Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Vaibhav Arora came up with the match-winning effort with the ball in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 15th Match of the league between the teams took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Vaibhav Arora was too good for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The fast bowler came up with a brilliant effort with the ball and sealed the game for his team, helping them win their second match in the league by 80 runs.
Vaibhav Arora took his team off to a flying start with the ball
Vaibhav Arora took his team off a flying start with the ball, picking the wickets of Travis Head and Ishan Kishan while defending 201 runs. The pacer swung the ball pretty well and put Sunrisers Hyderabad under massive pressure right from the start.
While he provided the team with a flying start, he made sure that he came up with another crucial blow for his team in the last phase. Vaibhav Arora went on to remove Heinrich Klaasen, which was the final nail in the coffin, in the 15th over of the second innings.
Vaibhav Arora bowled a short ball, which got big on Heinrich Klaasen as he looked to pull. He didn’t get the proper connection as the ball caught the top edge and it ballooned towards square leg, where Moeen Ali was stationed.
Moeen Ali took a dolly, but what was eye-catching was the reaction of Vaibhav Arora after Heinrich Klaasen got out. The Kolkata Knight Riders pacer came up with the death stare for the Sunrisers batter as he walked back to the pavilion.

We plan for different batters in our meetings depending on who the batter is – Vaibhav Arora
For his performance, Vaibhav Arora was awarded Player of the Match. The pacer talked about his preparations as an impact player, saying that he assesses what the pitch is doing from outside. He also talked about the importance of bowling yorkers and cutters. He also revealed that they plan for different batters in their meetings. Speaking after the game, he said:
“I keep myself prepared to come in as the impact sub. I assess what the pitch is doing from outside, whether there’s swing, whether the ball is holding.
“Yorkers and cutters are important in the fifth-sixth over as the ball doesn’t swing by then. We plan for different batters in our meetings depending on who the batter is, whether he is likely to give the charge.”
