Rohit Sharma endures his third failure on the trot

The Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit has been going through a lean patch in the ongoing season of the marquee T20 league while playing as an impact player.

In the tournament opener against the Chennai Super Kings, he bagged a 4-ball duck as he was cleaned by the left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed.

The 37-year-old came up with a slightly better performance in the next match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) as he scored 8 runs off 4 balls. He was castled by the premier pacer Mohammed Siraj in the match.

Meanwhile, he had a great opportunity to play longer innings in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at home as MI got a small target of 117 runs to chase.

However, Rohit disappointed his fans and Team MI again as he scored just 13 runs off 12 balls, before being dismissed by Andre Russell in the 6th over.

In his last 10 IPL innings, Rohit has scored just 141 runs, crossing 20 only once. Also, he extended his record for most dismissals for less than 20 runs in IPL as he now has 127 such scores in his name. He is followed by Dinesh Karthik (112), Shikhar Dhawan (94), and Virat Kohli (94) in the unwanted list.

Also, Rohit (24.83) has the second-lowest batting average by an opener in IPL since 2023, only behind retired Wriddhiman Saha (20.28).
