The IPL 2025 was host to SRH vs LSG on Thursday (27th March). The seventh game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, and it saw Rishabh Pant-led side winning their first game by 5 wickets.
Asked to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t have the kind of start they would’ve hoped for as Abhishek Sharma (6) and Ishan Kishan were dismissed by Shardul Thakur in the powerplay. With the team tottering at 15 for two, Travis Head (47) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (32) steadied the ship.
The Head-Reddy duo added 61 runs for the third wicket to bring their team back into the game. But Lucknow Super Giants bowlers kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals. Heinrich Klaasen (26) and Aniket Verma (36) played decent hands as well.
Skipper Pat Cummins (18 off 4) hit some blows in the end as Sunrisers Hyderabad managed 190 for nine. For Lucknow SuperGiants, Shardul Thakur picked four wickets while the rest of the bowlers were in wickets too.
Aiden Markram was the first wicket to fall for Lucknow Super Giants in the chase. But it came as a blessing in disguise for them as Nicholas Pooran (70) played a blinder while batting at three. Opening batter Mitchell Marsh (52) supported him well as the duo added 116 runs for the second wicket.
Ayush Badoni (6) and Rishabh Pant (15) failed to make a mark. But Abdul Samad (22*) ensured that he took his team home as Lucknow registered their first win of the season.

After SRH vs LSG, Match 7, Royal Challengers Bengaluru rose to the top of the table, with Lucknow Super Giants going to second. Punjab are in the third, while Chennai Super Kings are in the fourth spot. Delhi Capitals are 5th followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad at 6th. Kolkata Knight Riders are stationed at 7th. While the rest of the teams have yet to open their account.
