Mumbai Indians Women vs Gujarat Giants Women Match Overview
Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) took on Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) in the eliminator game of the Women’s Premier League 2025 on Thursday, March 13, at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. GG-W won the toss and elected to bowl. Deandra Dottin was ruled out of this game because she suffered an injury five minutes before the toss and was replaced by Danielle Gibson.

First Innings: Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt led Mumbai Indians Women to their highest total this season
MI-W lost the wicket of Yastika Bhatia in the fifth over after she made 15 runs off 14 deliveries. Nat Sciver-Brunt joined Hayley Matthews in the middle, and the duo dominated GG’s bowlers. They added 133 runs for the second wicket. It was the second time the duo had a partnership of 133 runs this season.
Matthews added 39 runs for the third wicket along with Harmanpreet Kaur. MI-W finished with 213 runs for the loss of four wickets on the board. It is their highest total this season and the first time the team crossed the 200-run mark.
Second Innings: Gujarat Giants Women lost their third match of the season against Mumbai Indians Women
GG-W struggled early in their chase, losing three wickets in the power play while scoring 46 runs. Danielle Gibson and Phoebe Litchfield added 38 runs for the fourth wicket before Gibson was out after scoring 34 off 24 balls.
Litchfield was dismissed in the 12th over after she made 31 runs off 20 deliveries. Bharti Fulmali scored 30 runs off 20 deliveries. These three were the only batters who managed to cross the 25-run mark. GG-W were bundled out for 166 runs in 19.2 overs. Matthews took three wickets for 31 runs in 3.2 overs and was the pick of the bowlers for MI-W.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt (Mumbai Indians Women)
- Sciver-Brunt had a terrific outing with the bat and made 77 runs off 41 deliveries.
- She took one wicket for 31 runs in four overs as well.
- She now has 493 runs to her name in nine outings this season and is the first batter to score more than 400 runs in a season in WPL.

Danielle Gibson (Gujarat Giants Women)
- Gibson made her WPL debut in this match.
- She was the best performer for GG-W with both bat and ball.
- She took two wickets for 40 runs in four overs.
- With the bat, she made 34 runs off 24 deliveries.
Hayley Matthews (Mumbai Indians Women)
- Matthews won the Player of the Match award for her all-round performance.
- She scored 77 runs off 50 deliveries and hit 10 boundaries and three sixes.
- She took three wickets for 31 runs in 3.2 overs. She is now the leading wicket-taker this season.
Mumbai Indians Women vs Gujarat Giants Women Match Summary
MI-W won the match by 47 runs and qualified for the final. It was MI-W’s seventh win over GG-W in seven matches. MI-W will now face Delhi Capitals Women in the final. It will be a rematch from the final of the first season.
