Punjab Kings have suffered a massive blow ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Premier fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to the quad injury that he faced recently.
Lockie Ferguson injured himself during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday (12th April).
In the second innings of the match when Lockie Ferguson was introduced into the attack in 6th over, he experienced terrible pain. After bowling two balls, the fast bowler held his quad on his way back to the run-up and was unable to walk and was taken off the field.
Lockie Ferguson then didn’t return to the field, and it was expected that he would be fine for the coming games. But his injury is much worse than expected, as it is very unlikely that he will be taking part any further for Punjab Kings in the league.
Punjab Kings bowling coach James Hopes, a day ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders, broke the news. He said that the pacer has done a decent injury to himself and the chances of him being fit for the last phase of the tournament remain very less. He said:
“Ferguson is out indefinitely, and us getting him back by the end of the tournament is a very low percentage. I think he’s done a real decent injury to himself.”
