Watch- Jitesh Sharma’s old video goes viral after CSK fans burn him over MS Dhoni

RCB wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma has landed in a controversy after he didn’t pick MS Dhoni as his idol. Jitesh instead named Adam Gilchrist as his idol, which has not gone down well with the CSK fans.

In an earlier video, Jitesh Sharma had named MS Dhoni as his idol in terms of wicketkeeping and handling the pressure. He even claims to be watching MS Dhoni’s videos in order to learn how to run a game in every situation.

Jitesh had also desired to meet Dhoni at some point and learn about different things from him. However, his recent comments after joining the RCB have triggered a war on social media, with Dhoni and CSK fans not particularly pleased with him.

CSK fans burn Jitesh Sharma over MS Dhoni

In a video clip that has gone viral on social media, Jitesh Sharma named Adam Gilchrist as his idol. When asked about MS Dhoni, Jitesh expressed his desire to bat alongside him.

“I always wanted to bat alongside Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni). I just wished for once, he was on strike and I was at the other end. Even if he gets beaten, I would see that as well (from non-striker’s end),” Jitesh said in the podcast.

“I believe it’s always a team effort,” Jitesh responded when asked about Dhoni’s brilliance in winning the World Cup for India.

Jitesh didn’t stop here and even made fun of the Chennai Super Kings with a popular meme that has gone viral on social media. His actions have caught the attention of social media users, and there are allegations that he has been trying to make fun of Dhoni and CSK.

Jitesh Sharma’s IPL numbers

Jitesh Sharma played for Punjab Kings from 2022 to 2024. He performed well for the franchise and even earned an international debut. However, he has been unable to cement his place in India’s national team.

Jitesh was signed by INR 11 crore by RCB in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Known as a useful player in T20 cricket, Jitesh has the ability to go big in the slog overs. He is a good player of spin and can be a dangerous player at the death.

The wicketkeeper-batter has played 41 games in IPL so far and scored 730 runs at an average of 22.81 and a strike rate of 151.14. The last IPL season didn’t go particularly well for him, and he will be aiming to return to form this season.

When will the CSK vs RCB match be played?

Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be seen playing against each other on March 28 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The match is expected to be a close one, with the fans of both sides highly passionate about their respective teams.

Jitesh Sharma is likely to feature in the game for RCB as their wicketkeeper, barring any late injury concerns. It remains to be seen how he gets treated in the city of Chennai as both arch-rivals clash against each other.
