India National Cricket Team pacer Mohammed Shami didn’t have a great start to the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The summit clash is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Mohammed Shami, yet again, didn’t look in good rhythm with the ball and was taken for some runs in the powerplay by the New Zealand batters. The fast bowler not only gave runs but also went on to drop a crucial catch of Rachin Ravindra, who looked in golden touch with the bat.
Mohammad Shami dropped the catch of Rachin Ravindra off his bowling in the 7th over. The New Zealand batter chipped the ball back to the bowler as he got forward and played it towards the left of the pacer. The India pacer got scared as he ducked under it and immediately realised he had a chance to take it.
As he took his hand out, the ball hit the end of the left hand and with strapping on that hand, he failed to take the catch. Also, as the ball struck Shami hard on the left hand, blood was dripping from his hand, and the physio immediately got to work.
This didn’t go well with captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they fumed at the fast bowler not taking the catch of in-form Rachin Ravindra.
